IQUW is going through an exciting transformation developing new aspects of the business from the ground up. We are looking for a Performance Analyst to join our Finance Systems team working alongside a diverse group of senior and junior colleagues that can help us to achieve our vision for the future. IQUW writes a range of speciality lines of business including but not limited to Cyber, Energy, Space, Marine, Political risk, Terrorism and Motor insurance.

 

The Finance Systems team provides support through development, maintenance, and reporting to the Underwriting, Sales & Marketing, and Finance teams. Our opinion and insight are highly sought and valued. We want to build a market leading team where each member challenges the status quo and wants to push the boundaries. As a team we are also keen to collaborate with our colleagues across all teams to drive innovation.

 

As a Performance Analyst you will be fundamental to the building of reporting tools and models, where you’ll have the opportunity to bring your own unique perspective to the team.

 

Using tools like IBM Planning Analytics and Power BI and skillsets including SQL and VBA automation your enthusiasm for continuous improvement and development will be key to ensuring these initiatives are a success.

 

Reporting to the Senior Financial & MI Systems Analyst your main responsibilities in the role will be to:

  • Support the Finance Business Partner and Financial Planning and Analytics team in the production and delivery of recurring senior management and Executive reporting together with specific granular business area reports (e.g. dashboards and board packs).
  • Gather requirements and develop management information (MI) reports to support finance and the wider business.
  • Gather relevant financial and operating information to support further in-depth analysis.
  • Undertake a wide range of analytics to ensure that we have a detailed understanding of our financial performance against plan.
  • Provide analysis and evidence to inform decisions.
  • Development of effective reporting, analytics tools, and associated data sets in support of commentary and insight.
  • Maintain, update, and automate existing MI reports.

 

We’d like to hear from you if you have:
Essential:

  • A degree with data analysis or programming elements (for example Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics)
  • Scripting skills (e.g. VBA) and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • An interest or understanding of the insurance market
  • Understanding of good design principles and good coding practices
  • Openness to learning new technologies and programming languages
  • Excellent ability to communicate technical methodologies to a non-technical audience

 

Desirable:

  • Experience using SQL, including complex queries from multiple data sources
  • Experience building dashboards, using data to tell a story
  • Understanding of data modelling and best practices
